Drop in at Holy Grale, the pub/restaurant that opened late last year on Bardstown Road, and you may find yourself thinking once again in candlepower units and contemplating what it might have been like to drop in at the neighborhood pub during the heyday of Gothic architecture, when triptychs like the one behind the bar were in vogue, when lancet arches were all the fashion, and when chivalrous knights spent their days questing after the Holy Grail and their nights boasting over mugs of wholesome ale.

Bar opens daily at 4pm.
Kitchen opens daily at 5pm.

Type of Meals Served:

The menu — which changes pretty regularly, based on the creative whims and interests of the folks in the kitchen and the availability of interesting ingredients — features plenty of dishes designed to complement a session of beer drinking, but the food and execution are several notches more interesting than anything I'd describe as standard pub food.

This is an extremely holy place for amazing tap selections and small plate pub grub! Wow. Located in an old church off Bardstown road. Bar keep was awesome, he had the knowledge that one expects when pulling up to a proper pub, and recommended some great ales for us to try. The menu has it all for pub grub, from tacos to duck confit sandwich....cheese plate, pretzel bread with beer cheese dip, chorizo sausage sammy served in a pretzel roll. The winner on the menu??? Knackwurst Corn Dogs....amazing. Locally sourced sausage battered in goodness, and fried to perfection. This is a must go place in Louisville.......
